Frequently Asked Questions |
- Is my sitter an employee or an Independent Contractor?
Because we are responsible for hundreds of pets, it takes a coalition of carefully selected individuals who develop personal relationships with each client. Critter Sitter Connection relies on a network of "Independent Contractors" who are available throughout the greater Kansas City area to provide quality care for all our clients and their pets.
- Is my sitter insured and bonded?
Yes. In addition to providing liability insurance and dishonesty bonding, we perform a criminal background check on all of our Independent Contractors. Sitters are able to provide references, and sometimes even pictures, at the get aquainted visit.
- Do I have to call the office to schedule a reservation?
No, please use the contact us link to schedule reservations or to confirm when you have made a reservation with your sitter directly. Critter Sitter Connection uses only the most reliable and professional pet sitters available to our clients. By calling our office with your reservation request, you can rest assured that your sitter's insurance coverage is current and they have maintained a good report card from our clients. Also, by scheduling a sitter online, or through our office you can be sure that in the event of an unforseen emergency, your loved ones will be cared for by one of our best.
- Why is Critter Sitters Connection a better alternative to Day Play?
Many pets prefer to stay in a familiar environment. If your pet is uncomfortable or nervous around other animals, or at a bording facility, give us a try. Also, too often pets leaving day play need to be groomed before they are fit to ride in the car. Critter Sitter Connection provides quality care in your own home, care that fits your schedule and lifestyle.
- Why doesn't the website give exact prices for the services offered?
I attempt to list prices as accurately as possible based on the price sheet each independent contractor files with us; however, because the sitters are not employees, I can not set prices for them. Factors such as distance traveled, number of pets, type of pets, and types of services requested all contribute to how your sitter determines the fair value of her or his services. All of our sitters are in this line of work because they genuinely love animals, and love caring for animals. Each of them sets her or his own prices according to the various services they offer. We care for all animals of all sizes, from hamsters to horses, so it is difficult to say exactly what one visit will cost. You can be sure that your sitter will listen to your requests and provide services at a very reasonable rate.
